As I recall those headlamp lenses are a '33 T8 only item, ergo hard to find (T6 is smaller). There is/was a guy on the east coast who specializes in headlamps & lenses - I can't remember his name who might have 1 as might several members who have T8s but some of them don't come in here or aren't online at all.
As to the wipers I'd get some small new ones & cut them down to size.
I'm not too much into engine machine work but might suggest getting a 3" piston, which are "a dime a dozen" & have it honed/machined to size.
Your chance of finding a new waterpump for a T8 are zero & none, you'll have to get it rebuilt. If shaft worn may have to have it metal sprayed back to dimension & find a new seal (just sent 2 NOS ones to friend in Calif.).
Don't know what to advise about cam gear, not sure if any interchangeability or not.
Your car only has 1 taillight as it is a standard model - in Aug. of '33 Hudson upgraded the T8 & T6 with the "Deluxe" series which had dual taillights, 2 ash trays in the dash, a Majestic radio, & a pr. of chrome front horns.
You have to realize the T8 was only made 1 year, and not many of them, & some parts are only for it. It has been my experience that for every 10 guys wanting to buy for them there's only about 1 willing to sell!
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Try Lester Harris for engine and chassis parts. Minden, Nv. 775-267-2559 and Jason Fisher @ Vintage Coach Fontana, Ca. for other things. 909-823-9168 Tues. to Sat. 8am to 5pm.0
-
doubt if Lester would have anything but sure worth a try.
I don't think Jason (Bill Albright) has/had anything for the T8 (I got an orig. air cleaner from him a few years ago) BUT he can put you in touch with Val Smith who I believe is helping Pat Meehan's widow dispose of Pat'a hoard of T8 stuff!0 -

This is the '33 Terraplane 8 sedan that was for sale in France (your avatar), when did you get it and where are you? Did you have it shipped. It is a very nice car.0

A nice image of someone's car.

How many T8's do you think are in France or for that matter Europe? There wouldn't be many surely. In the UK there are very, very few it seems.
I imported my T8 from Norway to New Zealand in 2005. Of an original shipment of new cars to Norway of 6 twin sidemount 4 door sedans also with rear luggage rack, all in the same green colour, mine was the last one left in the country apparently.
What impresses me in particular is how nicely the bodies are built.0 -
I was told 16 cars left (or at least known) but no idea about the details, ie T8 with dual side mounts, T8 in general, or ??
Anyone has an some information ?0 -
the Club used to have "registrars" for the various years & models and there was one for the '33 Ts. I looked in the latest WTN and these people are not shown. I don't know if this is something only printed occasionally or if these "registrars" no longer exist, but at one time the "registrar" for '33 made available a list of known ones, by model, body style, and owner. I probably still have that old list somewhere but by now most of those cars have "moved on" but there were at least 25-30 T6 & 8s on it.
IF there still is a "registrar" for them he should be able to give an approximate number.
I know the Registar for Railton is Dave Keister up in Wash. & he keeps a list of all known Railtons in the U. S. whether in HET or not. My old crony Pete Welzbacher, also of Wash., used to or still is the Registrar or all know '29 Hudsons.0 -
let me give you an example of an interesting odyssey of a pair of '33 T8 convertibles, one of the most desired of HET products:
Bill Harrah had them, one a restored model he got from a guy in Sacramento, the other a largely original one with dual sidemounts, out of Minn.
When the Harrah Collection was being dispersed Thomas Cadillac, an old Caddy dealer in downtown L.A. bought the pair. To make a long story short they sold the restored one at an auction in the L.A. area some years ago. A dealer in Phila. bought it, eventually sold it to Zach Brinkerhoff of Denver, a really great guy who just recently died, and it was just purchased from his estate by my best HET pal who's in Calif.
The fate of the dual sidemount conv. is unknown - I don't even know if Thomas Cadillac is in business any more. They had a multi-storied bldg. with their collection, largely of Cadillacs, on the upper floor. If I knew how to put photos in here I'd put in photos of the pair I took at Thomas Cadillac some 30 years ago.0 -
let's see if I can do this.0 -
I tried to download a scan I've made of 4 photos of the 2 T8 converts but classicar won't accept them, said they are a "bmp file", whatever that is, so won't disply them - frustrating!0

It would be great to see these images!
Do this to convert to a jpeg file:
"MS Paint. Open the bmp, then go to File - Save As, and change the extension at the bottom to JPEG (.jpg)."0 -
one more time0 -
Nice! Has the bottom car got 17" wheels?
I'm after one part, the badge off the luggage rack.........anyone have a spare one or one they would be happy to lend for a pattern?0 -
if you were ever at Harrah's you'll recognize the sign in the upper left photo.
The other 3 were taken in the Thomas Cadillac building, dated 1973. This was a visit to their Collection which I organized for the So. Cal. Chapter. I have several other photos taken at the same time.
The dual sidemount car had it's original upholstery but had been given a cheap repaint. Harrah's never did anything with either car.
Harrah's had quite a few very rare Hudsons but the only one I can recall them ever restoring was a '27 EBT which they did bring to an HET National much to everyone's stunned surprise, the only time they ever did that.
In addition to the '33 T8 conv. & the '27 EBT I remember they had 2 '31 H BTs, a '29 H dual cowl ph., a '29 H club sd. (both long w.b. B & S models), the '31 H phaeton Eldon has now, an Italia, & I believe a few more. Most of these were never on display unfortunately.0 -
let's try this again, LOL0 -
AHA, I'm getting good at this! sorta -
Anyway, the history of this T8: one Bill Seadler of Sacramento found this T8 conv. sitting in a field in that area. Bill restored it but it had no engine when found but he was able to find a '34-5 H8 engine for it (water pump longer so hood never fit up flush with radiator). This was the 1st of these storied models I ever saw. My 1st wife & I drove up there from L.A. just to see it; he gave us a ride, Nancy sat in the rumble seat. This was approx. 50 years ago.
He subsequently sold it to Harrah's in Reno where it sat until the Harrah Collection was largely auctioned off ('70s?) & Thomas Cadillac bought both T8 conv. They did nothing with them either but sold the Seadler car at an auction in the '80's I believe.
The guy who bought it at the auction was a Phila. dealer who thought he could make a big buck on it (at the auction were Lorain Reese, Bill Albright, myself, Zach Brinkerhoff, all HETers interested in buying it but unwilling to pay what the dealer did).
After advertising the car, etc., the dealer was unable to sell it. Zach got in touch with him & bought it then re-restored it & in the process found a T8 engine for it.
Zach died earlier this year so it has left Denver & now has a happy home in so. Calif. with a devoted HETer. He will be bringing it to the San Simeon Meet next month.
To answer your question, NO, T8s only & always used 16" wheels, the T6's used 17" wheels, at least here in "the States".0 -

That 'automatic gear' device (missing on this engine picture) isn't that standard ?0 -
now that I've learned, finally, how to insert photos in here, thought I'd put in this engine shot of one I had.
You can see several of the unique '33 T8 items, the V-front radiator for greater water capacity (T6 was flat), the T8 only air cleaner, and the slightly raised center of the head. In '34 Hudson made the head higher & in '35 raised it again.
The T8 engine has a bore of 2 15/16" & was the 1st H8 with a 1 piece head (the '30 thru '33 Hudson 8 used 2 heads).
The dark green was a late '33 color - this was a Deluxe model thus made after Aug. of '33.
I thought I'd put this in for those of you who may never have seen a '33 T8 engine.
I have a photo of a sedan John Dillinger had used with a cop pointing to a bullet hole which it had recently received, LOL!0 -
I don't know what you mean by an "automatic gear" unless you're referring to the "automatic clutch" which was an option; this car did not come with it.0
-
oh, good, I'm glad you find this interesting & I hope helpful.
I'm an old coot staying up late in Az. We don't change time here so right now are on West Coast time, later will be on Mt. Time.0 -

I like pretty much the way this car is built so i thought it was part of the standard equipemnts. unfortunately, it's not a convertible with rumble seats but I'm very happy with it
I have a question about the original engine color, I found red kind of undergroune paint, and green. I cleaned the engine and painted it black with high temperature paint on the head
but I'm a kind of geek who loves everything original, juste no ideau of the original color...
Several parts were painted red but I didn't like it
