getting rear springs to take grease

Try poking a stiff wire in where the grease fitting goes (remove fitting first)

FYI
Jack up car then put stands uder frame and let springs hang down (unload). If that dont work try replacing the Zerk Fitting0 -
Use lots of grease! I had the stuff dripping all over me until I won. Probably have some old dry stuff in there that has to be forced out.0

What Olracer said, also a good size hammer applied to the "eye" area while pumping.0

Back off the grease zirt. May be bottoming out on the shackle0

I have had luck where a joint was full of solidified old grease by removing the zerk and threading a hose into the hole and onto the grease gun. otherwise the pressure blows the quick connect off the fitting when.0

I think it says somewhere that there should be about 1/2" between the zerk and the head of the shackle, both to protect the head of the bushing, and to allow for free movement of the shackle.0

There is a tool for doing just that"clearing a zerk". it looks like a punch but fits over the zerk and you strike it with a hammmer. An internal piston exerts a lot of instant pressure that usually clears it out. Don't know where you would find one, but maybe a google search would turn one up. I have no clue where mine is or i would loan it to you.0

Back off the shackle bushing 1 turn. you are bottomed and the zerk is against the shackle. Walt.0
