Pigeon Forge, TN....Hudsons in the Heartland Meet
I know that many of You are getting ready for OKC and the Nationals, but if you can't make the Nationals remember that The Hudsons in the Heartland Meet will be held Oct. 27-29. Will be a lot cooler and You have Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to Explore!
As in the past, the meet will be held at the Vacation Lodge. Located at traffic light #7, in the Heart of Pigeon Forge, TN. Come join the Smoky Mountain Heartland Chapter and the Mid-South Chapter as we celebrate with our Hudsons and Our friends, New, Old, and some that we haven't even met yet.
Call the Vacation Lodge at either their, Toll Free # at 1-800-468-1988 or Locally at 1-865-453-2640 and make Your reservations. Ask for Kathy and make sure to tell them You are with the Hudson Club. I know that times are hard for everyone but, If You can't make the nationals, come be with us.
Mr. Banker and the staff have gone, above and beyond our expectations to help Us make this meet, a success. There will be music and a lot of fellowshiping to enjoy. You can go 5 short miles back into Sevierville and visit the Floyd Garrett muscle Car Museum, or the Warbirds Museum, Next to the airport in Sevierille, or cross the mountains into Cherokee NC to visit Harrah's Casino or just take in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and Check out the Cherokee Indian reservation and the Arts and Crafts offered there. Hope to see you there!

My wife and I made our first one last year. We thoroughly enjoyed the meet and entertainment!0

Bumped again and have reservations for this year, we'll be there.
Thanks, Bob Parks0 -
Judy and I will be there, God willing. I'm going to try to get GWEN there this year also. I need to get her out of the garage and cleaned up. I've been starting her every other week, but haven't been able to drive her. I may have to get my Son or my Neighbor to drive her over there. My heart condition effects how much I can drive. Especially w/o power steering. We will be there Friday Morning.
See You there!

I'll be there, too ... but Billy, the 800 number is wrong ... it's -1998, not -1988. -1988 gets you a nice lady in Santa Barbara, CA. She said to tell you "Hi" !!0

Now that we are both retired Judy and I are hoping to make the meet this year. Everyone we have talked to has said that it is a terrific meet.:woohoo:

We missed last year. First time in four years.darn it... We are trying to make it this year.. For Campers, there are several camp grounds near by and the KOA is within walking distance across the street from the Motel. Lots of pull through spaces this time of year .:)0

Dave,I hope to be there God willing. Judy and I will be in room 212 up next to the Hospitality Room.

Hey Dave, Although I am no longer in the planning loop for the meet, I assume that the BOIL will be on Saturday night. As it was the last couple of years. At least I haven't been told otherwise.

Bring your folding chairs, a lap towel, a TV table to put your food on if you dont want to hold it in your lap or on your knees. These items will help you enjoy your meal, without worrying about someone bumping you, or food in your lap. Or just rough it, eat standing up, one hand on the throttle(fork), the other in the trough(plate). Good entertainment.0

The main reason for the change from a banquet to the low country boil was due to economic reasons. The last time there at the Golden Corral there was a large descrepancy between the Corral and the Club concerning the numbers attending. I think it was a difference of 20/25 people. We paid the difference out of club funds and since the Golden Corral refused to try to work out things with us. We just told them we would no longer need their facility. By the way the golden corral was the only restaurant that could handle a crown of 100/150 and keep us seperate from the other diners( which they failed to do ). The Boil has been a huge success, and has been less expensive on the Hudsonites that attend.

Bob:
Thanks for reminding us about the Golden Corral problem. We enjoyed eating there, but realize there was a problem. The boil is a chance to get all the HET's together and enjoy the music and the door prizes. Thanks for reminding us. Everybody drive safely. Bob P0 -
Bob, I would still, recommend the Golden Corral for the small group of Four or Five. The food was always good, and still is, We just could not get to gether on prices and head counts.
Thanks,
Bob Hickson0
