    That's not even close to accurate.
  • According to Pat Fosters book, Hudson Automobiles, there was an economic downturn that affected Hudson sales to some degree. Hudson was also shut down for several weeks by a labor strike and that didn't help much. In 1938 the country was headed into another recession resulting in a 48 percent drop in production. The economy did improve somewhat in 1939 and so there was an almost 60 percent improvement over 1938.
