Hudson Stepdown Starters

I have 2 points of reference for you.My Hudson is a 1951 that has the solenoid attached to the fender. So there was no need for the threaded holes. The starter is a MCH-6109.My friend's 1949 had the solenoid attached to the starter. I am afraid that I don't know what model starter it was and I no longer have access to the car.Perhaps this is of help.
