One inch freeze plug

I need the freeze plug at the back of my engine just under the head and above the bell housing. It looks like a one inch plug, are these commonly available, it looks unusual. This is a 1950 232 engine. Any guidance on installing it?

Try any NAPA store. Clean out the hole and apply a coat of permatex 1. Install the freeze plug and tap the center with a punch.
  • Thanks for the replies. The verification that it is a one inch is very helpful. There is a cover at the back of the camshaft, I do not need one at present, but curious if they are available. Hudson308, is your frost plug kit brass?
  • The plug at the back of the camshaft 1 13/16 inches and it is harder to find. They are steel not brass and are installed in the same manner as frost plugs. You can get 2 inch brass frost plugs for the left side of the engine block at most auto parts stores.
