The plot thickens
In researching my ‘33 6 I see a previous owner has fitted a Carter W1-574 carb. In its original form it was used on ‘41-‘46 216 cu in 6 cyl. Hudson used either a Stromberg EX-22 or Carter W1- 243S, -261S or a -267S.
anyone know what metering rod and jet I need to convert the -574 to work in my engine?
currently troubleshooting top speed of 45 mph and stalling at every stop I don’t coast or brake down to 15 mph before pushing in the clutch to stop.
timing is correct, points are clean and set, coil polarity is set up correctly with fresh fuel.
thank you
regards, Tom

Tom, those W.1's were not up to much even back in the day, so you are better off with a replacment one with an adjustable main jet, such as Zenith, Stromberg, or a WA 1 Carter.
