Biddle and Smart, located in Amesbury, MA, was originally a carriage maker, like many other auto body builders.
They started operations around 1870, and started producing custom coach work for numerous auto makers in the early 1900's. Among their customers were Hudson, mainly from around 1921 to the early 1930's and Rolls Royce of America in Springfield, MA.
The B & S buildings still stand in Amesbury, now occupied by the LeBaron Bonney Company, makers of fine upholstery for antique cars.0
