1954 Hollywood Hornet
Could someone please tell me how many of these cars still exist or a round about guess. 1954 Hollywood Hornet
Would someone also know about what the price goes for them? I have an orginal 1954 red with red and white interior with every bell and whistle on it the spare has never touched the ground even with the orginal wheels and tires still on the car. the car has maybe 30,000 miles on the car. I would like more information if anyone has it about these cars. This car is in OUTSTANDING SHAPE nothing has ever been done too it still show room floor look to it.

Hudson only made a limited amount of Hollywoods. The Hornet Hollywood was the model right underneath the Conv't. Certianly , there are not that many around. I would guess maybe 10 - 15 left. Your's sounds like it's in nice original condition. That would make even more valuable. I would guess that if your's only has 30,000 miles on it and it's Gorgeous than it's the lowest mile car out there...... Congrats.....0

The reason so little miles on it is my father in law bought the car from a sectary that worked at Hudson and she didnt drive it long and sold it to my father in law. Well he was big into racing and didnt want it outside and put it in the race car shop and never drove it again. Well since then I have put my elbow through the lens of the tail light and for the last 15yrs I have been trying to find one not looking really hard. But now that all of our kids are into racing and the shop is busting out in seams we need to get that car and the 1946 Hudson Pickup again with very low miles OUT of the shop so we can get them out of the way. So neither vehicle has but about 30,000 or even less. The pickup still has the orgianl wood in the bed but both are just a collector of dust right now.0

I would love to post pictures but right now they are like burried in at least 10" of dust from the race car shop. As soon as I locate all the parts for them and they are out of the shop I will be happy to post the pictures of them and most of all I will be happy to get them things out of my way. Finding a power brake assembly is now my hold up for the car its a good thing I am a FORD person I can get parts for my car and truck this car is a NIGHT MARE. I didnt think it was going to be so hard to get parts for it. WOW now I know why I like the modern versions of vehicles you can just run down the road and pick up what you need. I am hoping and praying that if and when I find the power brake ass. that I can get the parts all in and the cars out and then I will put up the pictures of the vehicles. Its hard to put miles on something that you cant get your in laws to look for or even buy the parts for them. Trust me if I had my way with them they would already be scrap cause the parts are like finding a needle in a hay stack. Its crazy why would you want to have something collecting dust while you are paying for tag and insurance on them either put them together or scrap them and since racing is in the blood the best thing is a pile of metal well and dust.0

Simple solution just sell them to a Hudson lover on this board. They can be fixed up by the buyer who appreciates Hudsons.0

Fordracing45, If you really want to fix them up, you've come to the right place. There are guys on this Forum that you could go to for a screen door for a submarine, and all they need to know if you want it right-handed or left- handed? I noticed you just joined the Forum, and I think your input about the frustration in finding parts, speaks volumes. Here's what you do.....make a list of what parts you need, post them here, and I bet within 2 days you'll have your parts. If you don't care about fixing them up, I'm glad you found this Forum. Take the time to post some pictures, and you'll have no problem selling them. Go under NADA.com , under Classic cars, and you can get a "ROUGH" idea of what they're worth.

I'm confused... first you say that it's in "OUTSTANDING SHAPE" and "it still show room floor look to it.", then you complain that your in-laws should "either put them together or scrap them"
Parts are easily available for Hudsons...first thing you need to do is go to www.k-gap.com and order a tail light lens to replace the one you broke 15 years ago.0 -

Did you know there is a connection between the Ford Motor Sports Division and a '54 Hudson Hornet? The following came from www.cliffordperformance.net
"In 1964, while working as a mechanical engineer for North American Aerospace Division assigned to the Apollo Project, Ford Motor Sports Division hired Jack (Clifford) to beat the Chevaire race team. They were using a Chevy 327 V-8 wagon. The intention was to beat out the stock car manufacturers award at the NHRA world cup meet in Columbus, Ohio. Ford flew Jack and towed his 1954 "Hornet" powered 6 cylinder car to the meet. Ford knew they could not beat the Chevy race team without Jack's help since he held the class record too. His 6 cylinder flat-head blew the doors off the 327 V-8 Chevy by two full car lengths which allowed Ford to be #1 in the manufacturer's class. This really showed the possibilities of what a 6 cylinder flat-head could do..."0 -

Well I traded several emails with this nut. All I wanted to find out was "Where are you". After three emails she finally said Kansas City. I started out very friendly,... I thought , having some racing background and an interest in Hudsons...put us on some common ground. Well, this woman does not own the cars. Can't sell them and runs on and on about can't find parts, the cars are in the way, they are junk, they are mint.. A real nutso. She just needs a pen pal to dump here "stuff" on. I finally "told her off and put her on my blocked sender list. The world is full of nuts and we just found one. if someone is in KC.. Try finding someone running a Ford Stock car #45. Bet it's a junker.. Then try to see the cars.. good luck.

I can personally attest to this; I had a '73 Gran Torino 4-door with the 302. Wasn't a single thing that didn't break or fail on it. Biggest POS ever made, BAR NONE.

Just because you've had a bad experience, stereotyping isn't fair. Maybe it wasn't the car. Perhaps someone dropped a pierogi into the carb. I've owned many Fords over the years. I still have a 97 Explorer Sport that I purchased new. It has 125k miles on it and has, by far, been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Basically, cars are a crapshoot. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Maybe we start another pi$$ing match and do a poll on this topic. :rolleyes: 0 -
