The '54 Numbers maybe account for them just being some of the "newest" Hudson's and maybe being the last Detroit production year more folks decided to keep them. Or another theory is that being the last Detroit production year they got shuffled around a lot from the time they were new in kind of a limbo where people really didn't drive them much or see the value to scrap them. LOL
The numbers I have are from the 2005-2007 Roster.
The people who may or may not have kept lists and records of the type you're talking about (Bullislander) would be the registry keepers. They may be able to trace ownership or last known whereabouts of SOME cars. Not all registries are created equal.0 -
Posted here for counter-illustration, the opposite end of the surviving cars spectrum. The rarest or least-owned model years of cars among HET members ranked 1-14 (1 being the rarest model year) in the roster.

This list is not really all that surprising. But the fact that there's only one 1911 in a production year that saw roughly a production of 6,400 cars means that unless somebody has a lot hiding in a barn somewhere there's models that have gone extinct (no surviving examples) Interesting to note that 1909 is not the rarest and that 1919 model year has a decent number of survivors for being such an early year. This may owe thanks to the Essex (first year of Essex)0 -
Just saw this post... extremely interesting. Makes me want to make sure the club has all my serial numbers (which I will do).
(Here are the two they don't have: 51 Hornet Coupe 7A127955 / 52 Hornet Coupe 7B163100 (Just looked at old 1974 title and this was owned by a David Peterson in Spokane, WA if any knows of him? He's not in the roster).0 -

Found this thread late, checked the stepdown "8" registry and none of the serial numbers match up.0

I looked at the 50 pacemakers out of curiosity as I knew where one was sitting about 30 miles from Huntingdon but none seemed to match up of course it wasn't necessarily an origonal owner car but it had been in the driveway since at least 1960 per the son-in-law (when he started dating the daughter) he thought it hadn't looked to have moved for some time prior. it disappeared along with the half dozen or so other cars behind the garage this spring.0
