1947 Super-Six Convertible- Value?
We have a 1947 Super-Six Convertible that my dad parked in a leaky barn in 1958. It was stolen this fall and we recovered it. But the whole experience make me realize that we need to get rid of it, and get it into the hands of somebody who would restore the car. It is mostly all there. lots of surface rust, but much of the metal seems sound. Does not look to bad underneath the car. Any help establishing a value would be appreciated. Anyone interested, I have lots of pictures.

I Don't Know What A Value Would Be But Were Are You Located? Any Close To Michigan?0

The car is in North Carolina near Charlotte.0

I'll give you $2000 for it. LOL0

It is worth what you want for it. I know that is very vague, but it is true. The auto market is not what it was a few years ago- expendible income is not readily available to a lot of folks like it used to be. Another problem with prices is Barrett Jackson. Everyone sees a Hudson go across the auction block and says "Mine is/could look like that one" and believe that his or her vehicle is worth that amount of money. BJ is a joke. It is a place for people with inflated heads to buy cars with inflated prices. Sorry about the rant. Bottom line is this- ask a price and you'll know if your too high if you don't get any bites!0

charlotte is ten hours and i my come down for the charlotte auto feast in april do you have a price in mind?0

Somewhere between $5500 and $7800 to me. Would cost between 30,000 and 40,000 to restore it right. Wouldn't appraise much more than the numberes combined when done.0

I'm curious, just how did someone manage to steal it? And how did it manage to get found again?0

My guess is that this is part of the story;

Bad deal for all involved. I'm glad to see the car out in daylight and in search of a new owner.

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, the last episode was long and winding...
Wonder if Jeff is still looking for a title for a Hudson convertible or does the relative who recovered the car now need the title??????
Since the car is... now otta the barn... is it technically not a ... barn find? Does this make the car less or more valuable?
Oh the intrigue of the old car hobby... waiting for the next episode with anticipation!:):):):)0 -
You guys are right. We are glad to have recoved the car. Now that we have it back we realized that we need to get it to somebody who will do right by the car and restore it. Thanks for all your help establishing a value.
By the way, it was not a misunderstanding, just a theft.0 -
How did ya get it back?
Did ya go in with guns blaze'n or did the fella just say "ah shucks ya'll'r right" and hand ya the keys?
Just curious0 -
Luckily we have the title. As for the crazy details of how it was stolen and how we got it back, first we have to let the legal stuff run its course, and then I promise I will post the whole story. Thanks again.0
