Stepdown exhaust manifold "adapters" with pictures
Today we picked up 14 exhaust manifold "adapters" from the foundry. These are the adapters previously sold by Danny Barrier and Mark Hudson. We will clean and paint them, and ship as the orders come in. Price with shipping in the lower 48 is $175.00 If you have questions, email pbebop@gmail.com

No question, but a picture is worth a thousand words (or some such thing)!:)0

Russell:
Your right, will be working on it. Can email pics in a couple of days, will have to learn about posting pics on this forum. Thanks, appreciate the advice. Bob0 -
Bob:
I thought you were a forum guruIt's easy to post those pics...
Just click "Post Reply" in the thread, type your message...
Then go down to the "Additional Options" section and click the button "Manage Attachments" here you'll be able to upload your individual pic files.
Use the "Browse" feature to find the desired image on your computer click on it so the file and location appears in the "box" then click "Upload". It may take a several seconds for the file to be uploaded. If the file is too large it won't upload (can't remember the size limits) there's work arounds for this so we can cross that bridge later if need be.
Once the file is "uploaded" it appears in the "window" and you're ready to upload another image. Just repeat the above for additional images. I believe there's currently a 5 image limit per reply post.
Once you've uploaded just click "Submit Reply" and your message will be posted with the pics.
Now that I'm thoroughly confused we'll wait for those pics!

These are nice reproduction Exhaust Adaptors like the Fabulous Hudson Hornet 7X Racers used for Dual Exhaust outlets...0 -
Looks great. I had one of the originals made by Randy and sold it at Pigeon Forge a couple years ago. Has anyone come forward with a mateing adapter and gasket for the outlet??0
-
Thanks guys for the nice comments. I'm attempting to have the plates made to bolt to the rear(outlet) of the adapter. I've been told that if they are flame cut, they may warp. Still checking to have another method/source for them made. Thanks, Bob0

Bob,
Have them made 1/2" thick. They won't warp when cut then.0 -
Try Lazer cutting. I wotk in a factory that ises stainless eteel of 14 -18 guage thickness. thats how we get it done. duncan Happy New Year:D0

FYI
Age is only a Number especially when you tinkering on a Hudson. Personally I feel like a teen again when working on mine.....
Chronologically looking back on MY past decades, It took forever to get to 16, but I owned a Hudson before that...when I was In my twenty's days seemed long and time went slow, but time picked up pace in the Thirty's, then in the Forty's time went faster. However in my Fifty's Birthdays seemed like every 3 months and time was a blurr, but now in my Sixty's months are going by like days used to, far too fast.... I guess its because going down hill time goes faster now..... I hope you guys just entering the Sixty's can slow it up and enjoy....0 -
We have ordered the outlet plates made for the adapters. The plates will be 1/4 inch or thicker, with appropriate holes. Will work to get the gaskets to match the plates.
The plates will cost $10 each (plasma cut), we dont know the gasket cost yet. These can be ordered with the DUAL OUTLET EXHAUST MANIFOLD ADAPTERS and no additional shipping.
Email to hetpbebop@gmail.com drop the het. Thanks, Bob0 -
Dale Cooper sells the gaskets.0

Thanks, will check Dale for gaskets. Bob0

Since it would be the same gasket Dale would have the gasket that fits between the original exhaust manifold and the extension, but probably won't have the twin outlet to pipe flange gasket.:)0 -
Any power improvment with these worth the cost?

Depends on your estimation of worth, but full headers will develop an extra 20% hp increase. My GUESS is that the split/dual exhaust should give you somewhere between 13-17% increase. Also, the sound of dualies from a Hudson I-6 is just about priceless.0 -
Yes, the sound of a dualed out Hudson is priceless.
I have no idea how much hp increase they'd give. My guess would be like Russell's.
However, the vehicles I heard run the adapter with full dual pipes sounded as good as headers.0 -

Indeed, Dale does have the twin outlet flange gasket. I've purchased them from him before.

Paul:
Did you remove the damper plate from the bottom of the exhaust manifold, we can see the counter weight and coil spring. Thanks, Bob0 -
Thought I would throw this on here.0
