Well, that's good to hear. Now, does anyone over there have a '16-'26 high compression head we can use for a pattern? Postage from here is outrageous.0

We met the 2 pattern makers and they do a beatfull job. Everything but the casting is done here and Not in Mexico, the casting only is made in Calf.U.S.A.
They will start on a Hudson project for all of the local Hudson owners and when it it finished then and only then we will show the finished parts on the forom. We can check the progress as the steps are performed.

If you are concerned about the spelling, type the post using MS Word, run the spell checker (F7) then copy & paste into an already opened Forum reply box. Works a charm!!0 -
I think it was Mark Twain that said: "I feel sorry for any man who don't know more than one way to spell a word."
With that said, I will have to admit that I have authored, checked and posted comments that would make an English Major such as myself blush. I do like the idea of spell checking in MSWord and copying over. I have never tried it, but I will..... Thanks for the tip.....0 -
Did anything happen on this project. I am guessing no, but just thought maybe someone had some followup, probably bad on the casting company.0

Wow. It has been 3 years since last post. I asked a club member at San Mateo International HET meet if he had received his 308 aluminum head that he ordered from Empire Motors. He was one of the first to place an order. His reply, NO!

My neighbor contracted with an Ohio outfit to reproduce a handful of early teens Roberts aircraft engines. I'd hate to even guess what it's costing him,but it's great fun to see it all coming together for the Jan 1, 2014 100th anniversary of the first scheduled airline service. Best part for me is two former schoolmates that I grew up with building the patterns and pouring the aluminum. Non finer for the job in my estimation, but I'm probably a little biased... The engine is a six cylinder 2 stroke engine that produces 75hp. The patterns were made so they can also cast an earlier 4 cylinder 50hp crankcase also.

I know a company in WI that is a family owned but sizable casting company. I know the Gen. mgr personally. They have worked with car enthusiasts to make heads and blocks in the past. If anyone wants to give this a go with reputable outfit drop me an email: danwhitehudson@mac.com (drop the hudson) and I will put you in contact with them.0
