Abiut 6 to 8 inches, Lee. Pop the seat cushion out and clean and lubricate the tracks/linkage. Also make sure the return springs are on both sides. They hook to the tracks at the front and to a small rectan gular tab with a small hole in it that's welded to the floor pan.0

Thanks for the information Steve. My seat was moving very little maybe an 1" or 2 with great difficulty. I was pretty sure it should move more, without difficulty.
One more item for the 2do list.

And don't forget the seat base hase two sets of holes to mount it. You can gain an extra inch +or- that way. And the factory had spacers to lift the seat up or tilt it also,

While we're on the subject, my 49 seat has never moved. The lever was missing
when I got it,but I'm not quite sure what else is missing. Does anyone have
an extra lever/shaft/???0 -
When you remove the seat frame, the lever stays with it. It fits into the 1/4 +-" hole in the outside of the left bseat btrak and can be seen in the photo.0
