That red 46 truck was truly amazing. It was the shiniest car at the show. I have never seen the quality of crome and paint that was on this truck before, he even cromed the stainless, it was truely amazing and totaly over the top. The underside was just as shinym I took lots of photo's but I cant find my plugin for my pc.0

They had two "vote your favorite" awards this year. One was "your favorite modified". The stretch cab truck got the votes on that. The other was "favorite unmodified". The red truck that Bob Marshall brought won that. Both trucks had one of my Dad's beds installed.
Then the hotel employees voted for their favorite. Which was won by Marc and Nellie and their '38 sedan, I think it was. Anyone know who got the Albright award?
For any of you that didn't go. You missed out on a fantastic talk by Ivan and Buzz, on performance parts for Hudsons. Both six and eights. Got sun burnt! But it was worth it.
Ran into a few people who I only knew from the forum. That was nice, to put a face with the name. I didn't go to the forum meet and greet. Wish I had. Looks like there were a bunch of you there that I knew. But I didn't know it.

SAW A LOT OF OLD FRIENDS AND MADE SOME NEW ONES AS TONY THE TIGER SAYS --- G R E A T---
MANY THANKS TO THOSE WHO PUT ON THE MEET THESE THINGS DON'T JUST COME ABOUT WITH OUT A LOT OF PLANNING0 -
Another note I thought I'd add based on some of the pre-meet comments I heard;
This was a fantastic hotel for $105 a night, and they were very accommodating. There was a daily parking rate, but ours was comp'd for unknown reasons. Did they comp all the HET members? When we checked in our rooms werent quite ready, so they upgraded us to suites without us asking. We found lots of great local places to eat that were very reasonably priced and the food was great. Hospitality wise definately a 5 star experience.
The planning and work that went into this meet was phoenominal!
Thanks to the organizers of this!

There is about 20 times more photos of the meet posted on the HET Facebook page. Missed the Forum members meeting, as I was selling Hudson parts. If you came by the booth, you know who I am!0

Glad you all enjoyed the Meet! Wish the Facebook page wasn't locked so those of us not on it could at least 'lurk' and see the photos! If there are any anywhere else, please post the link and thanks all for posting the photos above!0

Nevada, you didn't miss much. I think there were three of us at the Forum meeting. Pretty disappointing. The red pickup, by the way, took the People's Choice award.0

As far as junk parts go, some people are dreamers. Just like some cars that we have all seen, not just Hudson's but all makes.0
-
The supply of NOS items will not last forever. Sooner or later there will be no more left. Then you will be glad to pay for a pitted
but re-chromeable trim item.

Thanks to one of those dreamers many cars have shiny chrome. Though legally bind at the time, the late Chuck Rodgers saved many junk parts overlooked by most in the dollar and free piles. He hind filed the parts removing the pits and recreating the detail before sending off for plating. long before ebay and online forums hudson owners were limited to the flea markets at local meets and the wtn ads and those in the east, had little to pick from beyoind that so called junk which plating shops would quickly erase all detail on their buffing wheels to eliminate the pits.0 -

As Rodger states, the definition of junk will change as the supply changes, what was hardly a parts car twenty years ago is better than what some start a restoration today.not long before that, what was restoreable 20 years ago was only good enough to grab a part to keep the daily driver on the road.
