    FYI
Singh Grooves are good idea, however beware the 7x 232 Head actually had chamber modifications made to prevent detonation. (Seen a 232 actual 7x Head pic posted by Rudy Bennett once but dont excatly recall changes). Think pockets were unshrouded and/or the ridge was smoothed around the exh pocket. Suggest researching further then have mod's done while at Shop to prevent problems...
(I only ran 262 heads back in the day but suspect others did because Mach Shops would grind off the Head Numbers. However, Guys that didnt know how to copy the 7X Chambers were blowing Gaskets in the Feature)....

Something to take into consideration when cutting the groove depth is how much has been milled off the head to have a straight flat surface. Also, how much metal in the water jacket may have rusted away in the past 60 years. The deepth of the groove must be reduced by the amount milled off the head to reduce hot spots if the metal gets too thin between groove and water jacket or even cut into water jacket.

Just sharing someones experience that he shared with me. He did experience increased performance but, he cut to deep creating hot spots which created bubbles and overheating.

  • Here is an excellent article for those who wish to have their engines balanced state-of-the-art as opposed to the way Hudson did it over 60 years ago.
