A little humorous when you think about it. The LED uses less current.. great, but then you add a load resistor to USE current.. LOL. They are brighter .

For most flasher units you have to have a given load for the unit to work, hence the resistor.  The main advantage of this set-up is the brightness of the LED ,an d the  longer life.  LED's do not blow like bulbs.

LED 3rd brake lights need nothing (except maybe a 'wild' owner)--12 volts !!

Richard, those look great- plenty of light for a following automobile to have warning.
  • I do have LEDs connected to the license plate light also; located behind bumper.

Now that would be good if the behind-the-bumper lights came on with the brake lights.  I could live with that, it's subtle, but effective.

Couldn't see the bumper LEDs in the daylight; at least you can't where I live !!!  But click on the Vimeo above and see the third brake light do its thing. You also can't see the other 900 LEDs I have under the car in the daylight !!
