Thanks guys, I appreciate this info. Uncle Josh, I need to repair the threads on the spindle and I am trying to find a thread chaser to fit. I have been speaking with Thread Tool Supply; I will ask if they have a thread chaser of that size.

You may be able to dress them with a thread file

If the thread damage is severe and its hard to pick up the starting point on the thread, you may be better of with a 2 piece thread restoration die, you clamp the die onto the good thread and wind it off across the damaged thread. These were quite common once but the only seller I can find with a quick google is these guys https://www.jmeinnovations.com
A good old fashioned 20 tpi thread file may do the trick http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-tools/thread-file/
Or you can DIY your own split die. Buy a 3/4" x 20tpi hex die, cut it in half with a 1mm cutoff wheel and mount it on the good threads. A socket will hold the 2 halves together and give you a means of winding the die. Oil the threads first.0
