What is a good replacement clip to use on the door upholstery backing?

I've used VW Beetle clips before, pretty similar

As i am in Australia I have used trim clips off a 1969 holden. Have a look on ebay im sure they are probably a generic GM clip.

What are you working on? My 36 uses something entirely different than what's on my 54.

Have you used these clips. It is hard to tell from the picture what the dimensions are on the clips.  Also they do not post to the US. Do you have a local source?

There is a listing on EBAY for VW Beetle door panel clips that look like what is pictured above. They're $12.00 for a bag of 50, and the photos show the clips laying on a tape measure.

Back in the late 70's I used these on my 46 pickup.

I did my search as "1963 VW Beetle door panel clips". I found them as low as $9.oo for a bag of 56 pieces, from a VW parts specialty shop. That's how many it takes to do front and rear on a beetle.

yes VW clips look exactly the same

The ones stevepet has pictured above I got 2 years ago from a supplier here in Australia called "Rare Spares". "Rare Spares" were the original suppliers of parts for Aussie Holden cars. They supply worldwide now and I'm sure would have a US stockist.

That's the same clip... The lower price I found wasn't on EBAY, but a specialized vendor of VW parts.
