Drive Your Hudson Day

In addition to our Hudsons I have a '62 Triumph TR-4. I received an email from the local "Tri-State Triumphs" group on the Greater-Cincinnati area that was promoting "Drive Your Triumph Day" on February 10th, the birthday of Sir John Black, former chairman of Triumph-Standard. I thought if the Triumph folks can do it, why not our HET Club?

So, I did some scouting about and learned that both Roy Chapin Sr., the de facto leader of the group that founded the Hudson Motor Car Co., and Merrit Marks, founder of our beloved Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club share February 23rd as their birthday! So there you have it, the makings of our first "Drive Your Hudson Day". Let's make this a new HET annual tradition! Is February ideal Hudson driving weather? Depending on where you live, possibly not. I know we've got nearly a foot of snow still on the ground. But each of us can do what makes sense. No one is asking or expecting anyone to take their vintage Hudson out on snowy or salty roads. Even a driveway photo with your local story would be worthwhile and appreciated! So, fire up your HET on February 23rd, get a photo or two, and share your photos and stories here within the forum! BTW, I got an email from both Larry Kennedy and Sheldon Rody with news that the Studebaker Driver's Club has been conducting a "Drive Your Studebaker Day" for several years.
