Does anyone have a part number for 53 Hornet front brake shoes? The numbers I have are no good anymore and the parts stores can't find anything listed as an interchange. The numbers I have are: Raybsetos #263 and Napa Rayloc # RS-18

The only number you need is 440 293-4079. That's Dave Kostansek's phone number. Call him and you'll have the correct shoes in a couple of days. Let's support these long-time, reliable vendors of Hudson stuff.

#55 is the aftermarket shoe number for the rear on step-downs. #18 is the correct aftermarket number for the front shoes. At a glance it looks very similar to the #263 shoe, but the radious cut-out at the top of the shoe is not positioned correctly to fit Hudson.

Walt Mordenti had an article in a WTN several issues ago and it talked about how to use the 263 shoes. The entire proceedure of what to do. It is pretty simple, you are basically lowering the anchor pin down to accomodate the different configuration as Jetman 53 points out.

#55 is also the correct number for Pacemaker Wasp 11"x 1 3/4"

Thanks clutch guy. Those that bought my tech tip books tell me after they set up those 263 shoes like I wrote they never had brakes that good. Walt.

    Walt,

Are your tech books still available?

Yes, my tech tip books are available. They are in 2 volumes, number 1 and number 2. #1 is $20.00 and #2 is $15.00. If one is ordered it's $6.00 priority mail or if both ordered it is still $6.00 as both fits into the priority mail envelope. Walt Mordenti 45 Skyview Way San Francisco, CA. 94131-1248.
